Meet Aerodyne’s Head of Operations, Cameron Chattell

Cameron has worked for Aerodyne for around eight years, during which time he’s seen a few different departments and has a good overall view of the company.

Tell us about your journey with Aerodyne so far?

I’ve been working here for eight years and previously spent time in sales and marketing, including internal and face-to-face sales, and also been responsible for our website and social media updated around new products.

I’ve been in my current role as Head of Operations for about two years and my focus has been on creating a streamlined production and supply chain to ensure our customers get the goods they need, when they need them.

Aerodyne is a very innovative company. It’s good to see that this happens on the inside too.

Yes, we’re continually reviewing things and learning from every experience. Taking this approach has allowed us to quickly scale our production at relatively short notice which means we can take on more, larger contracts. It’s great news for our growth.

What do you think Aerodyne brings to the table that your competitors don’t?

I really like the fact that we back up our results with science and data. Our research and design service is awesome and the way we combine the real life data we get from the fleets we work with and the computer simulated data we get from our CFD modelling means we’re able to provide the best aerodynamic solutions on the market.

Which is your favourite product?

It has to be the WR-5118 Auto-adjust Aeromatic deflector. It’s an excellent design which complements the Mercedes Actros. The auto-adjust option works by a laser detecting the height of the trailer and ensures the fleet operator gets the best aerodynamics possible.

Which part of your job do you enjoy the most?

I think the way we work so collaboratively with our clients means what we deliver is always very rewarding. Our solutions reflect their goals and that’s key when doing nothing about fuel consumption and carbon footprint is getting less and less viable.

There’s no one-size-fits-all solution so we’re always analysing, measuring and innovating to find the best product and how we can tweak it to make it perfect for that particular client or fleet. We relish taking the role of trusted advisor and helping our clients to achieve their targets when it comes to costs and the environment.
